Cookie Policy

Version of 1 November 2026

This page explains in detail what cookies are, which files and technologies the site 1988agency.com uses, why they are needed, how long they are stored and how you can disable or delete them yourself. We tried to describe everything in plain language, without formal boilerplate, so you understand what happens to your browser when you open our site.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a site asks the browser to store on your device. They hold short technical values, for example a session identifier or a mark that bot protection has already been passed. When you open the page again, the browser gives these values back and the site runs more stably. Cookies themselves are not programs, they cannot run code, read other files on the device or infect it with viruses. Besides classic cookies, sites use similar browser-storage technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage, and we treat them under the same rules described below.

2. Our approach

1988 Agency is a website development agency, not an advertising network. We live off orders for sites, not off selling data about visitors, so we collect the minimum. There are no ad banners on our site, no reselling of audiences and none of the dozens of third-party trackers often found on commercial sites. We use exactly what is needed for the site to open, be protected from spam and for us to understand which pages bring requests. Everything else we deliberately don't install.

3. Cookie categories

To make it clearer, we'll split the files by purpose:

  • Strictly necessary (technical). Without them the site can't work correctly or defend against automated attacks. They can't be disabled by the site's own means, because then some functions would simply stop working. Consent for them is not required by law;
  • Analytics (statistics). They help us understand, in anonymized form, how many people visit the site and which pages they view. These files are not required for the site to work, and you can opt out of them.

We have no advertising, marketing or personalizing cookies, so we don't keep a separate category for them.

4. Which cookies our site uses

Below is what is actually in use on 1988agency.com.

TechnologyWho sets itCategoryWhy
Cloudflare service cookiesCloudflare (our hosting and protection)strictly necessarysite operation, load balancing and protection from bots and spam in the request form
Google Analytics cookies (the _ga family)Googleanalyticsanonymized statistics of visits and page views

The site is hosted on the Cloudflare Pages platform. Cloudflare acts as both hosting and a protection system, so it may set technical files that distinguish a live visitor from a bot and prevent spamming the request form. These files are not used for advertising and do not reveal your identity to us. A detailed description of their files is in the Cloudflare policy at cloudflare.com/cookie-policy.

For statistics we use Google Analytics. It shows us aggregate numbers, how many visits there were, which pages people leave from, which devices they use. We see the overall picture, not a specific person, and we use it only to improve the site and understand which pages work better.

5. What we don't use

To leave nothing unsaid, we'll state it plainly. There are no advertising cookies or retargeting on our site, no social-network pixels, no selling or sharing of your history with third parties for advertising, no hidden profiling or building a portrait of the visitor. We connect Google search through Google Search Console, but it works outside your browser, indexes the site from the side and does not set cookies for you.

6. Basis and consent

We use Cloudflare's technical cookies on the basis of legitimate interest, without them the site won't work correctly and securely. Google Analytics analytics cookies are not mandatory, and you have the right to opt out of them using the methods in sections 8 and 9. By continuing to use the site with cookies enabled, you agree to their use as described here. Disabling analytics in no way limits access to the site and does not prevent sending a request.

7. Storage periods

The lifetime depends on the file. Session cookies are deleted as soon as you close the browser tab. Persistent cookies are stored longer, Cloudflare's technical files for periods set by Cloudflare itself, and Google Analytics analytics files until you delete them yourself or the period set by Google expires (usually a few months, after which the counter refreshes on the next visit). At any time you can manually clear all cookies through your browser settings, which resets all the periods listed.

8. How to manage cookies

Managing cookies is entirely in your hands. In any modern browser you can view the stored files, delete them and forbid sites from setting new ones. Usually this is in the settings section devoted to privacy and security:

  • Google Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Cookies and other site data;
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings, Privacy & Security, Cookies and Site Data;
  • Safari: Settings, Privacy, Manage Website Data;
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings, Cookies and site permissions;
  • mobile browsers, a similar section in the browser app settings.

You can also turn on «Do Not Track» mode, use a private window that clears cookies after closing, or install a blocker extension. It's important to understand that if you fully block all cookies, some sites, including protection mechanisms, may work worse. Our site will still open, and you'll be able to send a request.

9. Opting out of analytics

If you want Google Analytics not to count you, Google has an official browser add-on that disables statistics collection across all sites at once. It's available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. After installing it, analytics will stop counting you, and it won't affect the site's operation in any way.

10. Third-party services

Some files are set not by us but by external services that run the site. Each has its own policy worth reviewing, Cloudflare cloudflare.com/cookie-policy, Google policies.google.com/privacy. How we handle your data from the request form in general is described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes and contact

If the set of cookies on the site changes, we'll update this page and the version date at the top. The current version is always here. For any question about cookies and data, write to us at [email protected] or on Telegram @vladKravchenko.
